How can you help?

A non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the impact of economic and social disadvantage upon child health and development.

A donation to ISDD will assist us with sustainability and growth. Our operational costs are low and over 90% of your donation goes directly to support program activity and projects in most need. These are:

  • Project GRANDD, grandparents raising and nurturing dependents with disabilities. We are searching for additional funding to support these grandparents who are raising their grandchildren as well as the serving the grandchildren they are raising.
  • an interdisciplinary specialty clinical program for adolescents and adults with Down syndrome and other disabilities We wish to add caregiver support groups and additional support programming.Outreach Education and Training
  • We share our experiences with other professionals in the field at leading conferences and training initiaitives. In order to accomplish this we require funds for travel and development.
  • This program invites students and faculty from a variety of colleges and universities to develop projects that will Break the Cycle of Disadvantage and Disability and of Environmental Health Disparities. The project findings are presented at a conference and published in monographs and international journals. This annual program focuses on cultivating future leaders. We are currently working with 14 students on Break the Cycle 6
  • Heathcare Without Walls is a comprehensive community-based model addressing the health care needs of children who have been homeless. ISDD works in collaboration with Mary Hall Freedom House, the Morehouse School of Medicine, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia State University and Emory University School of Public Health
