Every summer, thanks to many wonderful donors, Project GRANDD (Grandparents Raising and Nurturing Dependents with Disabilities) families are able to enjoy a special day together at our summer Family Fun Day. Our goal is to provide a stress-free setting where grandparents and grandchildren alike can bond, relax and enjoy each other's company in a safe environment. 

  

Summertime brings an added financial and emotional strain to grandparents whose grandchildren are at home instead of school and therefore requiring more food, attention, and entertainment. It is particularly difficult when your income is fixed and just taking care of the basics takes everything you have.

 

While it is just one day, the grandparents tell us that they look forward to the outing every year, even calling it their "summer vacation." It's an opportunity for them to socialize with one another and a chance for their grandchildren to meet others who are in similar circumstances to themselves. 

 

This year we are taking Project GRANDD families to Xdrenaline trampoline park for jumping, climbing, active indoor fun and a Chick-fil-A lunch.  Donations are needed to ensure the BEST DAY EVER for these special families.
